Playing sports my whole life taught me how important movement is, but seeing physical therapy help my family helped me realize this is what I wanted to do. I watched PT get my dad back to normal after numerous back surgeries and a broken finger, and saw how life-changing it was for my grandmother recovering from a broken hip. Experiences like these are exactly why I want to be a PT. I love the idea of helping kids and youth athletes get back on the field, but I also look forward to working with people of all ages. I want to use my love for fitness to help everyone bounce back from injuries and stay active."
Throughout school, math and science has been my strong suit. I also thrived when doing hands on lessons. This helped me choose my future career path and also allowed me to take many classes to prepare. Anatomy and Physiology was a major turning point for me. It really sparked my interest in how the human body works and recovers. My high school teachers did a great job preparing us for the next level. Experiences like group projects and labs are exactly what made me want to go into Physical Therapy. PT is all about connecting with people and helping them get moving again. The teamwork skills I have built, combined with my anatomy background, give me a great head start. I am ready to work hard and help patients get their strength back.

My deep commitment to service is driven by hands-on involvement with several community organizations. Through active roles on the United Way and Eastern Shore Chamber Youth Boards, Catholic Social Services, and Alabama Power Service Organization, I have painted rundown schools, worked food drives, and evaluated grant proposals for local non-profits. Whether assisting middle school ministry or bible studies through my high school ministry, feeding the less fortunate with the Mother Teresa Service Club, or singing Christmas carols to the elderly at Little Sisters of the Poor, I consistently seek out ways to lift up others. These diverse volunteer experiences have not only shaped my character but have also fueled my desire to pursue a career dedicated to helping those in need.
Studies show that students who participate in extracurricular activities are more engaged in their education. For me, joining school clubs, leadership roles, and sports has provided me opportunities to discover new interests, build lasting friendships, and develop practical skills. It has also allowed me to dedicate my time to productive and meaningful initiatives outside of the classroom.

Balancing my life at St. Michael Catholic High School has taught me how to handle multiple things at once. Managing my schoolwork, job, church, extra-curricular activities, and home life has helped me become a well-rounded person. Learning to juggle all of these responsibilities has prepared me well to succeed as a college student.

Staying involved in my community has helped me realize the power of small acts of kindness. It has taught me how to listen patiently and care for people from all backgrounds. You never know the silent battles people face, which is why I love being outgoing and helping anyone who needs a hand. Ultimately, these experiences have taught me how to work with others to meet community needs, which will help me succeed both in college and in my future career.
